iTechbda is a privately owned company dedicated to providing quality IT service to both residential clients and schools in Bermuda.  The current owner is Anthony Outerbridge and his work experience and qualifications are outlined below.

Work Experience                                                                                                                                                                  

 

Somersfield Academy

December 2013 - 2022:  IT Director

  • Currently responsible for  overall IT planning and the daily management of all IT support services to Somersfield Academy, thereby serving  approximately  90 staff, 500 students, 200+ computers and peripherals.

  • Responsible for managing IT expenditures on behalf of the school.

 

Ministry of Education, Bermuda

October 2000- 2013:  Manager, Information Technology (IT) 

 

  • Was responsible for  overall IT planning and the daily management of all IT support services to thirty-nine schools and two administrative sites, thereby serving  approximately  1200 staff, 18 IT professionals, 6000 students, 4000+ computers and peripherals.

  • Involved in the overall networking of all schools for data and voice communications.

  • Responsible for managing IT expenditures on behalf of the Ministry.

  • Oversaw the operation of computer camps for school-aged children, including the hiring of staff and provision of appropriate hardware and software.

  • Played a high level role, including the provision of advice and specifications, in the initial design and implementation of the IT infrastructure at CedarBridge Academy, The Berkeley Institute and other educational sites, as well as for the new Ministry of Education Headquarters at Southside, St. David’s .

 

January 1984- October 2000:  Education Officer

  • Worked closely with school administrators, teachers and Education Officers to provide computer training, instructional and technical support in order to make technology an integral part of teaching and learning.

  • Assisted with the development of several IT Strategic Plans for the Ministry of Education, including the Bermuda Technology Education Consortium.

 

September 1981- January 1984:  Elementary Education Teacher, Purvis Primary School, Warwick

  • Provided classroom instruction to Primary 5 students in a variety of subjects.

  • Responsible for the creation of computer-based lessons and IT training for all teachers at Purvis Primary School. 

  • Managed the first of several Ministry of Education-sponsored Computer Camps for students.

 

January 1972- June 1976: Telecommunications Technician, Cable & Wireless Ltd.

  • Responsible for manning the Radio Transmission Station in St. George’s, Bermuda. Duties included watch-keeping, preventive maintenance and repairs on radio transmitters.
